Te Pahi

This project was about creating a fresh new public transport website for the Taranaki region.

They already had their bus timetables and service information available on their council website but this wasn’t really fit for purpose and they were looking for something with a better user experience, where the information users were looking for was easier to find and didn’t require snooping though the depths of a non-public transport focused website.

In this project I was able to leverage my experience with Metlink to design a solution that took some of the learnings from Metlinks’ public transport website and app and apply them with their own visual and branding flair to Te Pahi.

Throughout the process I was able to meet with engaged users and gather their thoughts and feedback and in focus group sessions - priceless for sanity checking the UX and picking up issues as early as possible in the development process.

Final outcomes

I am proud to have contributed to this project and the result is a bold and colourful website and a far cry from what users initially had to struggle through.

One of the big improvements was the creation of the new Te Pahi homepage which acts as a navigation hub and an area for news and updates relating to Taranaki public transport to be displayed.
